Innovation :: Founder-Director of 'TUDI', an institution dedicated to promoting and researching traditional percussion. In addition to idakka and mridangam classes given by P. Nanda Kumar, its activities include the establishment of new programme formats: Idakka Kachei, Naadasamanwayam (instrumental ensembles like veena, venu and violin).
Tradition :: He has performed Nilavu Sadhakam for 29 days in July 1997.
Collaboration :: For many years, P. Nanda Kumar has been associated with three reputed institutions for the performing arts of Kerala:
Chachu Chakkyar Madhom, the institution guided by Padmabhooshan Guru Ammannur Madhava Chakyar, Natanakairali and Natanakaisiki.
